Analysis and interpretation to determine representative emission levels for imported, domestic, and total compact populations as compared to those for standard cars; on concentration basis, hydrocarbons from imported compacts are 1.91 times as high as from standard cars; hydrocarbons from domestic compacts are not significantly different from standard cars; carbon monoxide levels from imported compacts are not significantly different from standard cars; carbon monoxide levels from domestic compacts are 1.51 times as high as from standard cars; mass emissions from compact cars are same as, or lower than, mass emissions from standard cars.
