Tests were carried out on passenger vessel "Orange," and passenger liner model, in order to determine conditions existing when propelling machinery is stopped and vessel is coming to rest; curves are presented, plotting relation between propeller speed and torque at constant ship's speed, curves of retardation, time of stopping and distance during stopping and curves of acceleration.
