80-ton locomotive, designed to develop ample power for rapid performance in switching and spotting cars, as well as road work at speeds up to 40 mph, built by Whitcomb Locomotive Co, Rochelle, Ill; with normal rated tractive force of 40,000, locomotive is said to develop 53,330 lb tractive force with use of sand; powered by two Buda-Lanova 6-cyl Diesel engines, with 6 3/4 in. bore and 8 3/4 in. stroke, developing 340 hp at 1200 rpm.
