As contribution to problem of turbulence on surface of rotation, method of small oscillations is supplied to flow past sphere; method developed for two-dimensional flow is applicable without modifications; frictional layer in vicinity of stagnation point of surface of rotation is less stable against small two-dimensional disturbances than in stagnation point itself.
