Three examples of surveys using this sample design are described -- bus and streetcar survey in Pittsburgh area, and railroad and bus surveys in New York area; differences in surveys due to refinements in sample design and variations in data desired are explored; comparisons of results of these surveys with complete enumerations at selected points are examined.
