Methods used to collect, tabulate, and analyze basic data on surface composition of six selected Thailand study areas; 15 mapping classes that expressed different soil mass strength and soil surface strength conditions were established; areas with equivalent trafficability characteristics in terms of 15 map classes were delineated on 25 surface composition maps together covering six study areas; delineation was accomplished through interpretation of maps and air photographs with control data in form of field and laboratory information.
