Viscous resistance coefficient; values obtained from analysis of nearly 400 model total resistance results are presented; dependence of this coefficient on block coefficient and on wetted surface area coefficient is shown for range of ship design; results also cover ranges of breadth to draft ratio, mid-ship section coefficient, and longitudinal position of center of buoyancy; work enables estimates of value of coefficient for variety of hull forms with sufficient accuracy for scaling within model range and for extrapolation to ship.
