Transall C-160 medium and tactical transport is product of one French and two German firms, with participation of French, German, British, American and Belgian equipment suppliers; background and development of project, description of first experimental and prototypes, and tests carried out; design and structural features of three production versions, C-160D, C-160F and C-160Z; power is supplied by two Rolls-Royce Tyne R.Ty.20 Mk 22 mounted in underslung nacelles from center section; engine delivers 5665 shp; two integral fuel tanks in each outer wing panel provide capacity of 4354 United States gal; cutaway drawing and leading data.
