Preliminary designs are developed for five V/STOL 10-ton cargo transports capable of 1800 nautical mi range; peak loads and stresses are calculated from structural dynamic response to ground handling, flight maneuver, gust penetration, and landing; loads and stresses are compared to those used to originally design aircraft; results are tabulated in matrix showing degree of relative criticalness for conditions investigated for each V/STOL configuration.
