Growth rate of air freight transportation closely follows growth rate of manufactured products; at present, 1% of all manufactured products shipped internationally are transported by air (comparable figure for all commodities is 0.05%); this tonnage represents 12% of value of manufactured goods; in 20 yr, it is expected that tonnage of manufactured goods transported by air will be 10% with value of 30%; recommendations are made relating to urbanization and urban planning; location of terminal areas and traffic generation; activities adjacent to terminal areas, pick-up and delivery services, and freight traffic on highway linking airport and city center.
