Originally developed in 1939, MVD auxiliary Diesel engine built by Moss Vaerft og Dokk, Moss, Norway, is novel in that it operates on opposed piston principle; in each cylinder are two opposed pistons, cylinder diam being 200 mm; engine is built in units of two, four and six cylinders; sectional views shown.
