In engine for new Budd Diesel cars cylinder block is inclined 70° from vertical in order to permit underfloor mounting; new oil sump and drains were only changes made in standard model; fuel, air, exhaust and cooling systems described; maintenance and repair; possibility of quick disconnection of power unit from car body is stressed.
