Traveling gantry crane built in United Kingdom, and installed on Nelson pier at Williamstown (Melbourne) to unload 97 1/2-ton locomotives built in Great Britain for Victorian Government Railways; cantilever girders carrying craneway, project from front columns 37 ft over ship's deck when in use; they can be folded back, one over the other, flush with pier face, to avoid obstructing other vessels coming alongside.
