New cars built by Budd Co, are 60 ft long, 10 ft wide, 12 ft high, and have four electrically controlled 50-in. wide double doors; each vehicle weighs 37 tons; seating capacity 54, speed of 45 mph; due to high strength-weight ratio of stainless steel and use of Company's "Shotweld" method of resistance welding, cars are considerably lighter than older models, with no sacrifice of safety.
