Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, since 1942, has greatly reduced number of freight cars set off between division terminals on account of hot boxes; factors contributing to this improvement include: better truck maintenance on system cars, better attention given to cars received in interchange before allowing them to depart over initial division, and by giving journal boxes attention at intermediate terminals.
