Analysis illustrates economic considerations in application of in-flight refueling principle to typical nonstop transcontinental transport flight schedule; data indicate that principle offers no advantage to either passenger or all cargo operation with either piston or turboprop engine aircraft but that substantial advantages can be foreseen for inevitable revolution of United States air transportation by turbojet transport plane.
