Dispersals of insects by sea and air transport; insecticidal treatment of aircraft, even when conscientiously undertaken, does not alone provide sufficient protection against insect introductions; greater attention should be paid to preventive aspects, with particular regard to control of insects of both medical and economic significance at international airports.
