Studies have indicated that efficiency of propeller driven aircraft drops off rapidly after 375 mph is reached and is surpassed by turbojet engine at 550-600 mph; discussion shows that there are number of developments in propeller field and variety of considerations in general aircraft performance and operational fields that leave areas of these figures open to considerable modification.
