Results of experimental and analytical study of liquid propellant surface responses in container excited longitudinally at high frequency; theory developed to predict surface disintegration, when compared with experimental results, gives conservative estimates; theory appears valid for arbitrary gravity conditions and dimensionless plot, valid for Bond numbers less than 100, is presented to aid predictions of disintegration; results of experiments performed on spray-excited low-frequency waves are considered as proof of validity of M.I.Yarymovych's hypothesis; testing performed to determine conditions necessary for existence of spray-excited waves was insufficient to allow definition of general prediction method.
