Describes system in operation for ten years between Hamburg and Marienhohe abandoned in 1917 because of war conditions. Writer makes following claims for trackless trolley systems in general: (1) Operating cost per transported passenger is same as for rail traction; (2) building cost is at least three times higher for street railway; (3) wear and tear on road is less with trackless system; (4) traffic obstruction is far less.
