First year of post war unrestricted activity resulted in output in 1952 of more than 200 seagoing vessels comprising about 790,000 tons dwc, of which 128 are of more than 1000 tons dwc; with 3,000,000 tons dwc on order, record year is expected for 1953 if steel supplies are available.
