Changes stemming from new or additional military requirements are indicated, and techniques and/or design for some newest major types are discussed; these are -- lithium bromide absorption cycle and thermoelectric systems for submarine air conditioning; aircraft carrier and submarine and tender cryogenic and electrolytic apparatus for producing oxygen for breathing, nitrogen for purging or inerting; air contaminant removers; forced draft blowers; shaftless electric motor pump which could also find use as propulsion unit, machinery drive, for streamed devices, etc.
