Experiments conducted in Lincoln Tunnel North Tube to consider behavior of cars and busses in lane of traffic; 2 photocells were installed in tunnel lane known number of feet apart; in passing over these cells, vehicle generated 4 events; eash of these events was recorded on magnetic tape as intermediate storage medium; difference between arrival times of successive vehicles provided needed headway time measurement.
