U S Bureau of Standards is developing reference table for Pt-6% Rh vs% Rh thermocouple; 6-30 combination was first introduced by Degussa, Hanau, W Germany; thermocouples from 3 American manufacturers and from Degussa were tested in 0-1600 C range; program at NBS to establish reference tables for 6-30 thermocouple to facilitate their use and calibration; results of tests are compared with reference curve used in Europe, referred to as new Degussa curve.
