Tanker of 85,000 tons dw is in building by J.L.Thompson for Fred Olsen; accommodation is on one deck, abaft machinery space forward bulkhead; there is 5-story streamlined navigation tower surmounted by bridge, 75 ft above load waterline, with wheelhouse offering degree of all-round vision not previously attained in this class of vessel; length oa 869 ft 6 in., extreme breadth 121 ft 11 3/4 in., molded depth 60 ft 6 in.; 10-cyl turbocharged, Harland and Wolff-Burmeister and Wain engine has continuous service rating of 21,000 bhp at 110 rpm.
