By Aug 31 1962, Savannah, which left shipyard in January, had logged 9848 nautical mi; operation of power plant during this period was completely successful, requiring only corrections and adjustments of minor nature; information is given on problems in putting marine nuclear power plant into operation, fueling, scram, coolant system, various voyages.
