Technique is presented for determination of rise and set times of satellite about oblate planet; solution depends on ability to determine rise and set eccentric anomalies from single transcendental equation; solution of transcendental equation is facilitated greatly by approximating technique; cases of both zero and minimum elevation angles are analyzed; numerical results with strictly integrated orbit are presented for comparison with closed form solution.
