Yardney Silvercel which is several times smaller and lighter than load acid batteries of equivalent capacity is being tested for aircraft applications by Navy; major advantage of unit is that its high capacity and ability to withstand high discharge rates make it capable of starting jet engines several times before becoming completely discharged.
