Electrified service just completed embraces all suburban tracks between new passenger terminal at Randolph St. and southern terminus at Matteson, Ill., distance of 28 miles; South Chicago branch is electrified for distance of 4.5 miles, and Blue Island branch, 4.4 miles long, also forms part of electrified system; it includes 106.2 miles of main tracks in addition to 16 miles of yard storage tracks with capacity of 384 cars; a.c. supply is delivered to seven substations; details of overhead distribution system, cars, traction motors, etc.
