Among service problems arising from use of gasoline are presence, in some cracked distillates that have not been properly refined, of brown varnish-like resin, formation of which increases with age of liquid and warmth of place of storage; another source of trouble is due to fact that resinous material tends to collect dirt; remedies proposed.
