Analysis for compressible 2-dimensional mixing of 2 reacting gases subjected to steamwise pressure gradient is applicable to limiting cases of frozen or equilibrium flows under assumptions of unit Prandtl and Lewis numbers; empirical law for gas behavior within mixing region is assumed which matches proper density values at points across shear layer; similar solutions of governing system of equations are obtained for various pressure gradients and velocity ratios of 2 reactive streams; applicability to advanced air-breathing vehicles utilizing supersonic combustion.
