Central shipping control center for Port of Melbourne is 130 ft high tower with glassed-in observation deck at 74 ft level and direct telephone lines linking center with dey port areas, while HF 2-way radio transmitters will link it with ships, pilots and tugs, and port's own radio network; second platform immediately below observation deck carries all amenities and offices necessary for 24 hr/day operation.
