Experimental train developed by Electro-Motive Division of General Motors Corp; objectives: 400 passengers, 600,000 lb total weight for locomotive and 10 cars, conventional cost reduced by half, styling to dramatize new departures; main propulsion equipment is 12-567C diesel engine, standard Electro-Motive D-15E d-c generator, and two D-37 traction motors on front 2-axle truck.
