Mathematical theory of shimmy, with particular reference to twin nosewheel assemblies; it is shown that important remedy is to make caster length greater than "creep distance", which in practice is found to be approximately equal to tire radius; lateral flexibility of oleo leg is disadvantageous but elastic constraint at pivot is good feature.
