Based on brief historical review, it appears that theoretical knowledge and system conceptions are ahead of what is technically feasible and any large scale progress towards complete automation hinges on solution of reliability and complexity problem; this barrier has to be overcome before successful approach can be made to goals established by requirements of hypersonic aircraft and satellites.
