Tropical country opened up by electric railway after abandonment of 20 years consideration of steam rack railways; energy is furnished by hydroelectric power station; two turbines, direct coupled to throe-phase alternators generating current at 2300 volts, 60 cycles, are at present installed; power station will ultimately house five turbogenerator sets having total output of 12,000 hp.
