New 50-ft. passenger brake van, with "Vitreous" enameled steel body, has recently been placed in traffic; this is innovation in rolling-stock construction; experiment has been undertaken in order to eliminate much of time usually expended on painting of cars; 14-gage plates were used for sides and ends, and 16-gage for roof.
