London, Midland and Scottish Railway applies vitreous enamel to coach body of all-steel construction; enameling of exterior of car has been carried out in railway company's standard colors, including lettering and numbering; it is expected that vitreous-enamel colors will be permanent and that there will be no need for repainting or revarnishing with ordinary coatings.
