Bridge is of through-girder type and consists of seven 100-ft. spans, placed on piers of reinforced concrete, and foundations are of cast-iron cylinders filled with concrete sunk to present rock through water and silt of river bed by means of air lock; bridge is constructed for 4-ft. 8 1/2-in. standard gage, but rails are laid to 3-ft. 6-in. gage.
