Results of tests in Navy Aerodynamic Laboratory to determine variation of resistance with fineness ratio, and to find pressure and friction elements of total drag for model having least shape coefficient; seven C-class airship hulls with fineness ratios of 1. 0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 6.0, 8.0, and 10.0 made and verified; at 40 m.p.h. model with fineness ratio of 2.0 has least drag and greatest disk ratio, 25.31; model with 4.62 fineness ratio has smallest shape coefficient.
