Runways at 50 recognized ports and hundreds of landing places require surfacing; modern airport at St. Hubert, 25 miles outside of Montreal; results obtained from asphaltic-concrete pavements indicate many advantages of these types for landing field; temporary runways; asphalt is best adapted to improvement of airplane landing fields.
