Airplane of original design for transatlantic flying; boat hull between wings, and in place of conventional fuselage; in case of accident, wings and engines would be discarded, leaving hull floating upon water; hull, equipped with small auxiliary engine and wireless equipment, could be navigated to nearest harbor; thick-wing monoplane, with four engines, two tractor and two pucher, would weigh about 24 tons; smaller machine of same type.
