Airplane passenger service has number of important factors in its favor; railroads losing passenger traffic; comparison of distances, fares, schedules, equipment costs, power plants, dead weight to pay load, work done per horsepower-hour, total work done, weight, distance, time, and crew personnel; steam-rail line distance is from 27 per cent to 42 per cent greater, and extra-fare train takes twice as long to make trip.
