Flight test results obtained with FS 24 Phoenix at Mississippi State Univ; comparison made with two other sailplanes tested in same manner; Phoenix proves to be superior to heavy laminar sailplanes, which is explained by favorable aerodynamic characteristics due to airfoil and airframe design and construction method.
