To determine effect of acceleration on development of lift in simulated carrier-deck catapult takeoff for 2-dimensional wing, unswept wing, swept and delta planform wing; each of wings developed 90% of its steady-state lift within 7 chord lengths of travel; results agreed qualitatively with those calculated from theory.
