Subject of critical load for lateral buckling was treated as part of investigation carried out in Aeronautical Research Laboratories; however, constants determining lateral stability of solid deep rectangular beams, as obtained by other investigators have shown discrepancies; it was therefore decided to correct these, and analysis presented in both correction and extension to cover wider range of loading conditions.
