Both zero-order and first-order solution presented for 2-dimensional and axisymmetric hypersonic flow where M is free stream Mach number and delta is characteristic slope; solutions are compared with exact numerical integrations of equations of motion, and appear to be accurate particularly when shock is relatively close to body.
