Study to determine whether transition triggering mechanism is same at supersonic as that observed at subsonic speeds; it was found that increased laminar boundary layer stability as obtained by surface cooling has little effect on critical 3-dimensional roughness R or lateral extent of turbulence downstream of roughness.
