Problem of determining rocket trajectories of minimum propellant expenditure in absence of aerodynamic forces, is expressed as problem of Mayer type in calculus of variations; it is shown that method suggested by Cicala leads to some criteria obtained previously for case of rocket moving in vacuo, provided motor thrust is unlimited in magnitude; general criteria applicable when motor thrust cannot exceed certain magnitude was also found.
