Requirements for improvements in stopping distances and stability which can be achieved by commercial vehicles have been under investigation; results show these are improved by fitting load sensing equipment to rigid and articulated vehicles; causes of skidding and sidewise swinging are explained; preventive action of load sensing device which is readily available and economical to apply has been proved.
